School teachers sometimes like to talk in a school language which they assume us parents all know what they are talking about.
For example your class teacher might say:
'We have been working with your child in guided reading and she can now understand paragraphing and has achieved her learning targets', or they might say 'your child is working towards expected targets but we would like them to achieve greater depth'.
We might feel a bit embarrassed to ask or they might not give you the opportunity or the time to go into things in more detail just because of time constraints.
We have found resources which help to explain school language and gives you explanations.
