Key Stage 1 - Suggested reading lists

Your school will have a reading scheme they will follow and your child will bring home books to read. Children are encouraged to read in class 1:1, with their teacher and in groups for 'guided reading'.

Children like to read a range of books from different genres fiction and non-fiction to keep reading exciting and fun. Keep reading regularly together.

Please find lists below to help you pick books which are age appropriate. Understand your child's level of reading by talking to your teacher and asking for advice on what books your child should be reading.
